Universal Spacer Bushing Kit
Introducing the Universal Spacer Bushing Kit, the latest innovation from Skidmore-Wilhelm. Designed to work with your existing adapters and eliminate the lead time associated with custom tooling, this kit allows you to test virtually any bolt length immediately using your existing Skidmore unit.
Better Positioning, Better Results
The standard spacers used testing of long bolts often leaves the fastener extending too far out the front of the unit. The Universal Spacer Bushing solves this by positioning the fastener deeper into the assembly, keeping the turn element closer to the face of the unit. This change provides superior support and stability, directly resolving two common testing failures:
-
Prevents Bolt Bending: By reducing the overhang, the bushing prevents the weight of the tool or the force of the torque from bending the bolt, ensuring accurate tension readings.
-
Correct Tool Alignment: It allows reaction arms on tightening tools to properly engage with our reaction kits, ensuring safe and valid tests.
Seamless Compatibility
We designed the Universal Spatial Bushings to work with the tools you already own. In most cases, there is no need to buy new adapters; these spacer bushings are compatible with your existing standard bushings.
Note: The kit includes updated bushings for 1-1/4" and 1-1/8" diameter bolts, as legacy bushings in these specific sizes are not compatible with the new spacer system. All other standard bushing diameters fit seamlessly.
What’s Included in the Kit:
The Universal Spatial Bushing Kit replaces the need for custom manufacturing. It includes four distinct lengths to accommodate a wide range of fastener sizes:
