What is the cost of a standard calibration?
Most of our calibrations cost between $250-$400. If you have one of our Rotational Capacity Testers, please contact us for a quote.
Do you calibrate tools such as torque wrenches or other devices?
No, we only calibrate Skidmore units.
What is the turnaround time on a standard calibration?
Depending on our workload, calibrations typically take about two to three weeks. If it is critical that you get your unit back right away, please check the expedite box on the calibration form and and your unit will leave our facility within 48 hours of arriving. (we charge and extra $150 for this service)
How often should I have my unit calibrated?
Skidmore-Wilhelm does not determine the calibration cycle, but we recommend yearly calibration of all Skidmore units.
If you are AISC certified, calibration is required on an annual basis.
If I sent you my Skidmore for recalibration by 'x' date, would we have it back by 'x' date?
We will try our best to accommodate your schedule. If you expedite the order and are willing to pay for expedited freight charges, it makes it much easier to guarantee the return date.
How do I send my Skidmore unit in for calibration?
Please see our Calibration Request Form. Simply fill out the form online and then send us your unit.
Do I need to send in my plates and bushings for a calibration?
No, please keep them with you. It will reduce the weight of the shipment and save our backs while we move it through our labs!
Is it possible for me to obtain on old calibration report for my unit?
Absolutely! Just contact us and we will send it in return email right away! Make sure to give us your model and serial number!
How can I find out the current status or confirm you have received my unit for calibration?
Please first track the shipment via the carrier. The day it arrives here, we enter it into our calibration database. Calibration times vary based on workload but most units ship back in about two to three weeks. No need to call...we're on the case!
